What are the defining qualities of a Great Motivational Speaker?

Historically, anyone who spoke professionally would often be labeled as a motivational speaker, regardless of the actual content of their presentations. For instance, Wikipedia defines a motivational speaker as “a professional speaker, facilitator or trainer who speaks to audiences, usually for a fee” — pretty broad definition.

Lumping all professional speakers into the category of “motivational speakers” presents challenges for meeting professionals and is frustrating to speakers who feel that “motivational speaker” is not the appropriate category for them.

True motivational speakers come from many different backgrounds and possess the proven ability to lift up, educate and motivate their audiences. The best of them will engage the audience by sharing best practices, experiences and life lessons while utilizing humor, storytelling, and originality — and refraining from “canned” speeches.

How are Motivational Speakers utilized in meetings, conferences and conventions?

A motivational speaker is typically engaged to generate an immediate response among presentation participants, boosting enthusiasm and energy while delivering relevant, practical content coinciding with a meeting’s theme or objectives.

Motivational speakers are often utilized as keynote speakers to open or close events in dynamic fashion, with a typical presentation ranging from 45 to 90 minutes, although some are as short as 30 minutes or as long as two hours.

What is the difference between a Motivational Speaker and an Inspirational Speaker?

Wikipedia describes a motivational speaker as one who has “the proven ability to lift up, educate and motivate their audiences.” In contrast, Wikipedia defines an inspirational speaker as one who “address[es] audiences with the aim of inspiring the listeners to higher values or engendering understanding about life and themselves.”To inspire, according to the American Heritage Dictionary, is to fill with enlivening or exalting emotion. To motivate is to provide with an incentive; move to action; impel. Note that inspiration connects with emotion; motivation connects with action.

Many managers ask, ‘why is motivation at work really important?’

There probably are far too many people in our company who are full of talented and potential.  Yet they lack the drive, the motivation, the reason and the inspiration to do their best at work.   And you probably already know that if left unattended, it leads to a growing decline of productivity.  Lower productivity leads to being less competitive, which means lower profits.  And if continued it may turn out to be disastrous.

Now more than ever, leading countries, cities, governments, companies, associations and groups are aware that Employee training is no longer an option. It is a requirement. The investment made in grooming and constantly refining your human capital will be the only true edge you will possess in a globally competitive climate.

Many companies realize they are losing millions in profits because of productivity loss in people without continuous training but they are not quick to act. That’s the difference between world leaders and ‘also-rans’.

A business motivational speaker that can impart not only first class global knowledge but also breathe inspiration into your audience is valuable. In fact, it’s invaluable.

Next time you are looking for a motivational speaker for your next event, consider

  • Their international experience.
  • Their flexibility to incorporate your theme.
  • Their ability to connect with your audience.
  • Their capacity to deliver the desired message with impact.

“Leadership Transformation” Training for ALSTONE INTERNATIONAL by Naseer at Camp Redstone Dehradun

India’s leading motivational speaker and success coach M Naseer Khan conducted a three day “Leadership Transformation” Training for the 80 member marketing and leadership team of Alstone International at Camp Redstone near Dehradun.

Alstone International is the India’s Largest manufacturer of Aluminum Composite Panels and has the widest range of ACP in the Industry. Alstone is the only manufacturer of Silicon Sealant in Indai.

Located in the foothills of the lower western Himalayas at an altitude of 3,300 feet (1000 meters) above sea level, in village ‘Mahendrapur’, The Camp Redstone is spread over 20 acres of land set amidst lush green forest alongside ‘Song River’.

M Naseer Khan is one of the most inspiring motivational speakers and corporate trainers in India. He is by far the most energetic and captivating speaker in the country. Energy just flows when he is among the people. Naseer uses advanced techniques like NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Hypnosis, etc. to engage the audience and lead them to use what they learn during his seminars so that they can create a positive lasting change in their life.

Naseer is constantly engaged by the military, education and corporate sector to energize, inspire and train their people.

“Leadership Transformation” was a unique kind of training. I thought it was just amazing to be a part of the camp. There was so much of energy flowing all the time. In the month of November it gets quite cold there, but out entire focus was on what Naseer was teaching us and asking us to do.

There were participants from different parts of the country since Alstone has branches all over; Delhi, Noida, Kochi, Raipur, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, etc.

When the camp started, we were employees from different branches. When the camp finished we were a team, a family. And we had one voice; the howl of a wolf. Yes, we all learnt that from Naseer Khan. One more thing that we started doing frequently during these four days was ‘high fiving’.

Day 1

After some outdoor activities, we gathered for the first day of Naseer’s training. Honestly speaking, we were not extremely excited about the training, we expected some kind of motivational lecture, but Naseer truly blew our minds off. The first day training was a 180 minute “Transformation”.It wasn’t a ‘lecture’ at all. We did many things during the seminar. Many NLP and Hypnosis exercises. Music played an important part in the training. We jumped. We hopped. We cried. We laughed.

We learnt how to develop unshakable confidence. How to choose Belief Systems that are relevant today, that are useful for us. We saw how could handle stress by simply choosing to be happy. We found out the power of positive thinking.

The program was unlike anything I had ever attended, it gets you out of the comfort zone and/or your daily routine to focus in areas of life that the average person who goes about their daily business does not focus.

Day 2

Day 2 was ‘Leadership Transformation’. Naseer showed us in his own unique way what leadership is and why every employee of a company should have it.

We were again totally immersed in it. We saw how the greatest of the leaders went about their work. I realized I didn’t need a title in order to be a leader. I had never been very interested in reading but when I saw how most of the leaders have been avid readers I decided to change and start reading. In fact I bought The Alchemist which Naseer had suggested during the seminar and finished in 2 days. Oh, boy! What a feeling!

We learnt that a leader has to be teachable no matter what point of career he is at.Naseer gave us an acronym; DBA, Dream, Believe and Act. Then he said, “Ask, Seek, Knock”. Of course he took the verses from the Bible but he added his own flavour to it. It was so interesting to hear India’s leading motivational speaker and success coach M Naseer Khan live.

Day 3

Day 3 was ‘Leadership Transformation’ Part II.By far it was the most energizing seminar. We were sitting in the open and cold but each and every one of us was so excited and energized.

Naseer gave examples upon examples, one case study after other in order to prove his point. He said, ‘Knowledge is not power if you don’t apply it’.

We did exercises which taught us how to create energy within us instantly. During ‘Dreams’ sections we set our goals for the next 20 years using NLP and self hypnosis.

Naseer said great leaders are great delegators, for example Steve Jobs. They sell dreams not products. They dare. They love. They walk the talk. They are dependable. And they have a passion for their work, people and company. Naseer showed us why and how ‘honesty’ is the best policy. There are no short cuts. There are no free lunches.

Success Coach Naseer Khan Motivates the Indian Army at 1 STC

1 STC Jabalpur

Naseer Khan with the Army Officers along with Brigadier Mahesh Moolri

The atmosphere was electric. When more than 200 invited participants entered the Batra Auditorium, the music pumping through the speakers pulsed beats of excitement through the crowd. The anticipation was high as the lights dimmed and Shiv Priti, the event’s host, took the stage to welcome everyone. Army officers were excited and charged up. It was a new kind of experience. They did things they didn’t imagine they would do during a ‘lecture’. They later said they had never attended such a thing before. It was ‘Transformation’. It was happening at the Headquarters of India Army’s 1 Signals Training Centre. The chief guest was the Commandant of 1 STC Brigadier Mahesh Moolri, and he himself participated in Transformation with huge enthusiasm. India’s leading motivational speaker and Success Coach Naseer Khan was there to train the officers of the esteemed Indian Army.

Naseer filled the army men with energy and excitement with his style of delivery along with music, videos, exercises, NLP and Hypnosis. According to Naseer, “Your yesterday doesn’t determine your tomorrow”. He said he had studied in schools where teachers hardly taught. Pigs roamed around in the school ground. They were 9 brothers and sisters and his parents couldn’t afford good schools. Nobody spoke English where he lived. There was nobody to look up to for inspiration. He sold table-cloth from door to door. But, he said, he was privileged to share ideas with some of the brightest minds in the world, he had been across the globe, worked for some of the most reputed corporations in India and in Italy. Naseer hammered the point home- our past cannot be changed but we can change our future.

The audience did many NLP exercises, they learnt that happiness was a choice, we would not have to fight ‘stress’ if we chose to be happy every day.

Naseer said our beliefs run our lives. The people who commit suicide believe that that is the best option. A farmer takes a loan, can’t repay, and commit suicide. He firmly believes there are no other ways left. But we all re-present the situation according to our own belief systems.

When it comes to our lives, the biggest favour we can do ourselves is to remember Naseer’s advice: Get rid of irrelevant beliefs. The earth is not flat anymore. Cultivate better, constructive and uplifting beliefs.

He also showed the audience the importance of focus. The participants could clearly see how important it is to focus on our strengths and the tasks rather than problems and weaknesses.

These points are just a tiny fraction of what Naseer Khan shared with the 1 STC crowd. It was truly inspiring, elating, and action-packed three hours.

The Commandant Brigadier Moolri thanked Naseer Khan, he said his attention did not wander for even a second during these 3 hours. He added that the army people could benefit a lot from this event called ‘Transformation’.
The coordinator of the event Col Sanjay Khatri said it was great to have Naseer Khan at 1 STC, he is truly inspiring and his words are tremendously powerful.
Col R S Samar told the audience the event was so energizing; he had never seen such a programme in his life.
At the end of the event Col D Bhattacharya, Col Rajeev Tuli, Col B R Chharang, Col A Pandey, Col G S Gujral, and Col Ashok Rana thanked Motivational Speaker and Success Coach Naseer Khan. They said they learnt valuable lessons on Stress Management, Leadership, Goal Setting, Law of Attraction, Time Management, Positive Attitude, Power of Focus and Belief Systems.

Naseer Khan the best motivational speaker in India

Wisdom India No. 1 Blog

We first published this list in 2012 and by 2016 we have seen a couple of changes on it.

Motivational speakers provide informative and inspirational speeches to clusters of people. They are employed mostly by businesses, event organizers and schools to speak on topics such as living a healthy lifestyle, organizing one’s personal life, or business and financial success. Motivational speakers are experts in tailor fitting their messages to their audiences whether it is a crowd of business executives or a class of secondary students.

Motivational speakers help individuals motivate mental, spiritual, social, physical, financial and career aspects of their lives. Motivational speakers should work hard in maintaining and developing their abilities and verbal communication skills, as this is a vital element of the job. A good motivational speaker should do research to continuously keep up with trends and events regarding the subject matter that they speak about. They must also have the skill to converse with their audiences after every speech to offer consultations and answer queries. Considered experts in their field, motivational speakers are looked to when insights are essential in that given area.

In the western world, especially in America, motivational speakers like Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Zig Ziglar, Jack Canfield, Jim Rohn and Bob Proctor have helped businesses and people grow and reach their true potential. Some of these speakers speak more than 200 days in a calender year. In India, the trend is slowly picking up, corporate world and even the Indian Army is calling motivational speakers to help their people and motivate them to do their best.

There is huge number of ‘speakers’ in India. Here is a list of 5 of the most popular ones:

Sandeep Maheshwari is a name among millions who struggled, failed and surged ahead in search of success, happiness and contentment. Just like any other middle class guy, he too had a bunch of unclear dreams and a blurred vision of his goals in life. All he had was an undying learning attitude to hold on to. Rowing through ups and downs, it was time that taught him the true meaning of his life.

And once discovered, he consistently kept resigning from his comfort zone and to share the secret of his success with the entire world. It is this very urge of helping people and doing something good for the society that inspired him to take the initiative of changing people’s lives in the form of “Free Life-Changing Seminars and Sessions”.

No wonder people connect with him and his mission of ‘Sharing’ is now being actively propagated and practiced by millions. It is his diligent focus, the great support of his family and the faith of his team that keeps him going.
